A holiday wedding calls for something special, so we worked to create something just as unique and gorgeous as our bride! 
Red and green hypericum berries provide pops of colour, and a mix of Freedom and Vendella roses, lisianthus, caspia and seeded eucalyptus add varied texture and interest.

This bride knew exactly what she wanted for her country-themed bash, and it turned out great!
A mix of babies’ breath and pink wax flower were a perfect compliment to her wedding colours, and the corsages with delicate tea roses and lace really captured the country theme.

The end of July brought me a surprise August wedding! The ceremony was set in a garden of succulents, and the couple wanted mixed summer flowers to match their beautiful venue.
We’re talking dahlias, green hydrangeas, peach hypericum berries, roses, lavender statics, yellow poms, Monte, and succulents.

I was so blessed lady month for my first official wedding as BTTF was my mom’s, and it turned out great! She was going for classic ivory flowers with pops of colour, and has always loved peonies. Out of season yes, and we had some substitutions picked out, but as luck would have it there were 10 of the most beautiful pale pink peonies on the truck that day, the last ones of the season! Happy wedding day Mom, you’re a lucky bride 😜
So the bride bouquet was a mix of vendella roses, pink peonies, green hydrangeas, white alstromeria, white mini gerberas and purple caspia, with a salal collar and ivory satin handle with bling, naturally!
These were for our lovely little flower girls, and are a mix of ivory roses, green hypericum berries, pink matsumoto asters, pink alstromeria, purple Caspian and white mini gerberas, handle and greens to match the bride. A great alternative if your venue does not allow little ones to toss rose petals!

Mum’s goal was to have classic and beautiful flowers with pops of greens and pinks, and I wanted it all to be tied together but original and different for each of us. It was so awesome making something that I got to hold myself! Great night with wonderful friends and family 💟
On a very exciting note, I will be a vendor at the Full Moon Market in downtown Windsor tomorrow night at The Meetingplace, on Wyandotte! That’s Friday July 31at at 7pm, and I even heard rumours about the place getting a liquor license for the event! 😄
So come on out and buy some sharpie mugs, silk arrangements or a bouquet of fresh cut flowers! Can’t go wrong with a classic 😎

Here’s whats going on right now for BTTF!
I’ve had a few things on the go, including a baby blanket for little Miss Frankie and her mommas! Wish I would have remembered to snap a pic, but I did take a few of some other projects I’ve been working on. Here they are!
So on our travels one day, my best friend Nicky and I wandered into a thrift store in Windsor, and really loved the place! They take all kinds of donations, and proceeds go toward running youth programs downtown. The guy that runs the place told me about how one night a month they run their “full-moon market” where people can come and sell their products, AND they get a liquor license for it too 😉
I want to go to the next one to check it out, and we will see!
Things are finally moving! So very excited with this new chapter of life; I love being able to serve my beautiful brides and wonderful customers to my own standards. You all deserve the best! I cannot express how good and right it feels that Back to the Fuchsia is finally in business, look out world!
I’m so excited to announce that I will now be working as Back to the Fuchsia, and have TWO weddings on the books for the upcoming season! Yay! I cannot express how nervous/excited/thrilled/optimistic I am about branching out on my own, and working under my own business name. A million thank-you’s to my two lovely brides and their grooms, I am honoured to be a part of your special days!

…Momma gets! So this is my first true foray into the world of silks.
My mum always has me stuff a few fake flowers into a vase in the entryway, she says I “do it right,” but stuffing bent stems in an empty vase is far from right. So mum, tempted by the idea of never having to dis/reassemble again, FINALLY let me take it all home and do a good job! Set in a 10″ clay cylindrical vase, I used my Mum’s old dollar store silk flowers and one or two of my own ti make sometjing that will last. A little fall-ish, but hey, why not?

The holidays have come and gone, and the year is wrapping up *pun intended*. New year and new start is on my mind, for lots of reasons. 2014 has been an absolute roller coaster for me in almost every facet of my life, but I also feel like I’ve actually gotten somewhere with it all. I’ve survived 9 months of managing the flower shop by myself (4 major holidays and 12 weddings later and I’m starting to find my groove), I found a support work job that funds my wallet and feeds my brain (took some trial and error), and I worked toward starting my own businessish something, even if I’m not sure what form it will take yet. It’s all progress baby!
I’ve just finished my first offical Back to the Fuchsia project, and I will be sting some pictures soon, but not too soon! I don’t want to spoil the suprise 😉
